Geo. Oliver & Son, established in 1923 by George Oliver, himself the 4th consecutive joiner in the family, previously we were joiners on Makerston Estate, 5 miles east of St.Boswells.
We still work from the same workshop built back in 1923 but with up to date machinery including a 3 axis computer controlled cnc router and a fully tilting spindle moulder, all machinery being run through a dust extraction system to ensure a safe working environment for our work force.
We are a member of TRADA, timber research and development association and can rely on their technical backup if required.
Currently we have a staff of 6 experienced workers
Douglas Oliver - 44 years experience in the building trade, qualified joiner, HNC in building, City & Guilds computer aided design.
Richard Robertson - step son of Douglas with 21 years experience, qualified joiner.
Allan Drummond - 13 years experience, qualified in damp proofing, timber preservation, dry rot treatment and GRP roofing
Diane Oliver - wife of Douglas, accounts and book keeping
Graeme Reid - 5 years experience in fencing, decking and sheds, adult apprentice joiner
Keiran Walley - 3rd year apprentice
